Thread Sealant: Thread sealant is similar to pipe joint compound, but it is typically a liquid or gel form that can be brushed or applied with a squeeze bottle. Like pipe joint compound, it is used directly on the threads of pipe fittings to create a watertight seal. Some thread sealants are designed to withstand higher temperatures and pressures compared to Teflon tape. Threaded Rubber Gaskets or O-Rings: In some cases, rubber gaskets or O-rings can be used in place of Teflon tape to create a seal between threaded connections.
